this tall pot for coffee is reminiscent of certain
yixing teapot shapes, but is also related to classic
european forms, especially the spout and handle.
the wheel-thrown cylindrical body has been closed
with a slab and reopened to hold the lid.
three sharp-edged ridges divide it into segments
and balance the shape.
there are some accidental glaze drops that take
this upward moving shape back to earth by
introducing imperfection to it
